I don’t get it – who stole half of December?
Among snowy piles, frozen agaves, rain and only a few seconds of sunshine in the dully cloudy sky.
Half of December was stolen by tireless stirs, roasting of rouge ducks and Christmas carousels that would keep you in up till the very January.
To quote Remy:
„Pasaulis keičiasi, tėti, ir kiek jis iš tikrųjų pasikeis, priklauso tik nuo mūsų”.
At Ratatouille’s dinner, I told everyone and reminded myself that our inner child needs to be allowed to play. To awaken that child, swamped with responsibilities, jobs, racing and seriousness. Awaken to fool around, laugh and be curious.
Give that child some crayons, let him paint over the yard and draw yourself some moustache with a marker.
Such a wide range of emotions flows over during the festive period. We watch same good movies year after year, laughing at exact favourite lines and crying over the same things and quotes, wrapped cosily in blankets, reminding ourselves each year of what has been forgotten.
We wish to become better, forgiving, compassionate, and wilder. To apologize to someone, kiss somebody, hug everyone and get crazy in the snow with the kids while it's not melted. The snow. And while they are little. The kids.
Don’t get lost looking for the right gifts, as they will be put aside in 3 minutes, only to be left with love and the presence of each other, which is so rare. Let the biggest gift be time spent together. Cook together, go for a walk, recollect and build your future. Wrap your smiles into garlands. Forgive and reconcile.
Those are the most magnificent presents.
I wish to share the moments of Ratatouille’s dinner and rejoice in our guests’ desire to find themselves kids again.
Let me to conclude by quoting Gusteau:
„Jeigu visada galvosi apie tai, ko netekai, niekada nesužinosi kas dar laukia”.
